HUSEL Hockey Club is hosting tryouts for its U19/U16/U14/U12 (Winter teams). Our U14 is ranked #14 in the country and our U19 is ranked #30 with 6x USA Field Hockey Indoor Pool Championships and 4x USA Disney Showcase Gold and Silver Medalists.

U16: 2pm-4pm

Age Criteria:
Your age for the entire calendar year of 2025 is determined by how old you are on or before August 1. Age Group by Birth Year is shown below. Please note these accurately in your Age Group selection and note the time of your tryout!
- Under-12 Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2012, are eligible.
- Under-14 Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2010, are eligible.
- Under-16 Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2008, are eligible.
- Under-19 Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2006, are eligible.
Stated another way...
U19 - Born Aug 1 or later in 2006, 2007, and before August 1, 2008
U16 - Born Aug 1 or later in 2008, 2009, Before Aug 1, 2010
U14 - Born Aug 1 or later in 2010, 2011, Before Aug 1, 2012
U12 - Born Aug 1 or later in 2012, 2013 or earlier

Practice/Tournaments:
Winter: Expect practice ~2x/week from December thru February with 3 travel tournaments. NITQ and NIT are selection-only. NIT is separate cost if selected. Details to be distributed when closer.

Head Coach Background:
COACH JENNY: A resident of Northern Virginia, Jenny formerly played for the United States National Field Hockey Team and represented the US in international competitions such as The World Cup, New Zealand Test Series, and Japan 6 Nation Tournament. She has played for the US National Team in Australia, England, India, Japan, South Africa, and New Zealand. She has served as a USA Field Hockey Junior Olympic Coach (Gold Medal) and Nexus Futures Coach - Region 8 (Site Director and Coach).
During college, she played midfield at Wake Forest University where she was a Division I All-American, All-ACC, Hall of Fame selection, NCAA Final Four, and Academic All-American. She concluded her collegiate career with 76 goals and 186 points.
She graduated from Harvard Business School with High Distinction as a George F. Baker Scholar (Top 5% of Class), UNC-Chapel Hill with High Honors as a Master of Accounting, and Wake Forest University summa cum laude with a 3.942 GPA. She has worked for The Carlyle Group (one of the top M&A firms in the world where she executed the largest technology M&A deal at the time for $17 Billion), as Chief Executive Officer of a Kentucky manufacturing company, and currently serves as Chief Financial Officer in Athletics for a Division I (Atlantic 10 Conference) University.
